Gluten Free Cracker Breaded Shrimp Tacos

Shake up your routine with a festive dinner option for the picky eaters in your house. Make a gluten free build-your-own taco bar! Bread shrimp in crushed Milton’s Gluten Free Crispy Sea Salt Crackers and serve with all your family’s favorite fixings.


1 bag Milton’s Gluten Free Crispy Sea Salt Crackers, crushed⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1 tsp salt⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1 tsp paprika⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1 tsp cayenne pepper (or switch for chili powder if you want it mild)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1 tsp onion powder⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1 egg⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1 pound prawns, peeled and deveined⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

¼ cup coconut oil, plus more


Combine crushed crackers, salt, paprika, cayenne pepper and onion powder in a bowl. Whisk egg in a separate small bowl. Add the oil to a cast iron skillet and set to medium high heat. Once the skillet is hot, individually dip shrimp in the egg mixture, then place in the cracker mixture and pat to cover in crumbs and spices. Place shrimp in skillet, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about two minutes, then flip and allow to cook for another two minutes, or until done. Remove the cooked shrimp from the pan and place on a paper towel. Add more oil as needed and repeat the process until all the shrimp are cooked. Serve with warm tortillas, fresh lime, cheese, cabbage and any other favorite taco toppings!
